Made2Manage Acquires DTR Software
International
Acquisition Allows Made2Manage
to Become Leading Provider of
ERP Software for SME Plastics Processors
INDIANAPOLIS and Jacksonville, Fla., August 4, 2004—Made2Manage
Systems Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive enterprise software and services
for small and midsize (SME) manufacturers, today announced its purchase of substantially
all DTR Software International assets. DTR is a leading provider of manufacturing,
distribution, and financial management software designed for the industry-specific
needs of plastics processors.
"As of today, Made2Manage offers the strongest plastics-focused
ERP solution available in the SME market," said Jeff Tognoni, President
and CEO of Made2Manage Systems. "Both parties are thrilled with the benefits
the acquisition will bring to Made2Manage Systems' now 1900-strong customer
base."
DTR's signature product, currently called The Manufacturing Manager, or TMM,
will be re-branded as a Made2Manage product in the future. The product
will be both maintained and enhanced as a separate version of the Made2Manage®
Enterprise Business System.
The Manufacturing Manager and the Made2Manage Enterprise Business System will
be made available separately to both current and prospective Made2Manage customers
across the plastics processing industry. "We are pleased with our increased
plastics processing domain expertise, as well as the strengthened breadth of
solutions we have to offer that industry," said Frank O'Nell, manager of
product management for Made2Manage Systems.
"Made2Manage will support and enhance both product lines
based on customer needs rather than require existing DTR customers to migrate
to a single Made2Manage product," said Jerry Staddon, vice president of
development for Made2Manage Systems. "Our long-term product strategy enables
us to continue building and acquiring product and services capabilities that
meet the unique market specifications of key manufacturing industries without
disrupting the businesses of our existing customers."
Under the terms of the agreement signed today, DTR will be operationally folded
into Made2Manage Systems; many former employees of DTR have joined the organization.
The increased resources across research and development, services and support,
sales and marketing, and finance and administration will help Made2Manage
continue to meet the needs of former DTR customers, as well as positively impact
existing Made2Manage customers in the plastics industry, who will benefit from
ongoing solution enhancements that can be applied to both The Manufacturing
Manager and the Made2Manage Enterprise Business System.
"Compared to previous staffing levels and solution offerings, former DTR
customers will have even more resources available to them across development,
services and support," said Ray Vallillo, vice president of services and
support for Made2Manage Systems. Indeed, new Made2Manage customers will
have access to hotline support and unprecedented 24/7 online support via Made2Manage
Systems' award-winning customer Web portal, M2M Expert. Vallillo added that
throughout the remainder of 2004, Made2Manage will focus on enhancing
M2M Expert's customer resource center, which features case management, change
request management, a self-help knowledgebase, downloads, and more, to accommodate
its newest customers. In addition, former DTR customers will be able to take
advantage of Made2Manage Systems' professional services offerings, including
customizations, consulting, and online education and training.
DTR's former headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., will become a new Made2Manage
Systems office location. Made2Manage Systems' existing executive team members
remain in their current leadership roles.
